IMG Dorothy

Dorothy is a Programmes officer at ZWRCN who has substantial experience working in project development and implementation, community development, programme management as well as research and development. She possesses 10 years of experience and she is passionate about Women’s rights, Human rights defending, Conflict Resolution, Child Rights and Child Protection. She is a creative, innovative, proactive and flexible individual who has an interest in bringing about lasting changes in the lives of individuals, communities and nations.  She believes that poverty is essentially an issue of unequal power relations, therefore there is need to work collaboratively and in alliances with likeminded organisations to deliver long lasting benefits to ensure that power shifts permanently in favour of the poor and socially excluded groups including children. She is passionate about strengthening poor and marginalised people’s capacity to rightfully demand what’s theirs, and amplify their voices. She believes that the change agenda should be locally owned, driven and community based. Dorothy holds a Masters in International Relations, (University of Zimbabwe), a Post graduate diploma in Renewal for Thought Leadership (Thabo Mbeki African Leadership Institute), a Post Graduate certificate in Community Development from the University of Zimbabwe and a BSc Honours in Social Work, (University of Fort Hare).
